Mira Nova

Mira Nova is a character from the Disney series Buzz Lightyear. She is the Princess of the planet Tangea and also a Space Ranger as Buzz's co-pilot and second-in-command.

Background Info:
Mira Nova came in as a stray to the city pound. It was her second visit in less than a year. When the staff tried to reach her owner no one came to claim her. This girl is one in a million though and ready for her new home.
Adoption Fee: $ 200
Breed: Pit Bull
Sex: Female
Age: 12-24
Weight: 45-55 lbs
Health Condition:
Mira is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
Medium size blue female, with a petite build and athletic features. She has one of the healthiest and softest coats and skin you will ever touch!
Current Living Situation:
Mira Nova is enjoying life at MPR shelter. She is such a happy dog and is taking her situation in stride. Mira is quite the patient lady while waiting for her turn out to play. She has such a playful disposition and can even entertain herself by throwing her own toys to catch. Mira loves to have you watch her do her zoomies and graceful deer leaps, which are quite impressive. She seems to be a good candidate for frisbee or dock diving. While she can be quite lively, Mira knows when it comes to playing with her humans to put the brakes on and seems to have the gentlest touch.
Personality:
Mira Nova has a very happy outlook on life. Every day is a fun and cheerful day for her. While she can be outgoing and a complete goofball she also likes to settle down on the bed for a good belly rub and snuggle time. She seems like the kind of gal that can go from a nap on the couch to a good game of fetch without any complaint. We bet she would make a good jogging companion.
Behavior with people:
Outgoing, friendly with everyone. With her exuberance for life she can start off really excited to meet new people but is very quick to sit and let the people come to her. Nothing makes her happier than having her humans with her, as she likes to watch your every move. Playing fetch or just running around you in full speed mode while you walk through the yard are just a couple ways this girl gets her energy out so she can snuggle when the time is right.
Behavior with children:
Mira has not been introduced to any kids since being with us but she seems to have a personality compatible with family life. Because she is a lively dog who loves to play, it's possible she would require a little bit of training when it comes to behaving calmly around small children.
Behavior with other dogs:
Mira was introduced to dogs while at the city pound and did very well. We were told that she was not a fan of the "rough and rowdy" play, but preferred the "gentle and dainty" playing dogs. By the end of her stay with the pound she was being used as a greeter dog for new arrivals. Please keep in mind that play groups at the city pounds are strictly monitored by professionals and the dogs interactions are rigorously kept under control. The behavior of a dog under certain circumstances at a certain time in their life is not necessarily reflective of how they will behave for the rest of their life. As of now though, Mira has not given us any signs that she couldn't live with a compatible male as long as slow introductions were in place. We believe she might enjoy a 4-legged buddy with proper supervision and trigger management.
Behavior with other animals:
It is unknown how Mira would respond to other animals. She seems to have a low prey drive.
Training:
Mira has been working on her "sit" and "stay" and is doing well. She is very eager to please and is a great candidate for obedience training with her quick responsiveness. We could see this girl excelling with training to being an elite pet! She might also enjoy an athletic activity such as Dog Agility.
Best attribute:
Mira's best trait has to be her absolute lust for life! Her joyful and silly clown-like personality is guaranteed to make anyone smile from ear to ear, just like she does!
