Background Info:



Jack Frost was found outside tied to a pole by a member of the public. He was taken to a local shelter and never claimed. We’re so grateful for that good Samaritan, because now Jack has a chance to find a furever family that is worthy of his companionship.

Health Condition:

Jack had a bit of anxiety when he got to the MPR shelter, which is managed with CBD oil. Although it only took one week of living in his foster home to help him decompress and he continues to show improvement. 😊

Physical Description:

This dapper looking dog is mostly white with some black spots. He has a crisp coat with velvety soft cropped ears. His crooked nose helps animate his face with his expressive eyes.



Current Living Situation:

Jack won the jackpot when he was moved to foster care. He currently lives in a home with two adults and one teenager. There is also a four-year-old, female Am Staff he resides with. Jack gets crated at night and when home alone, separate from his doggy sibling. He has access to a fenced yard and goes on walks frequently.



Personality:

This boy is a total love bug. He’s a happy, playful boy with a very outgoing personality. He’s very active and the life of the party. Jack loves bouncing around the yard and going long walks for exercise where he can enjoy all the smells. When he’s not outdoors, Jack likes to spend his time chewing a toy or curled up with his human on the couch.

Behavior with people:

Friendly and outgoing. Jack does very well when meeting new people. He especially loves to show them his toys and he will make fast friends with anyone who will let him snuggle up to watch TV together.



Behavior with children:

Jack has been kind to everyone he’s met so far. However, he doesn’t know his own strength and he’s very bouncy and playful. This may be something he grows out of as he matures, but a home with older kids who can handle his size and strength is recommended.



Behavior with other dogs:

Jack could possibly live with a compatible female dog after very slow introductions. Again, Jack is a very energetic young man, which not everyone appreciates. He’s become the attention of several neighbor dogs, but he pays them no mind when they bark at him. Jack’s still a little unsure of how to play, so a home with breed savvy owners who can redirect him and supervise playtime diligently would be needed. When playing with toys at home, he and his foster sister are separated. However, when tuckered out, Jack will cuddle up with her and go right to sleep.



Jack would also love to be the center of your devotion and soak up all the attention for himself. He LOVES his humans!



Behavior with other animals:

Unknown. Jack has been on several walks around the neighborhood, but he hasn’t encountered any squirrels or other small animals.

Training:

Jack is housebroken, crate trained, and has mastered “sit,” "wait," and "kennel." He is very responsive and comes when he is called. This outgoing boy gets a little excited at times during a walk and can playfully “attack” his leash. But a quick redirection and reward with treats will send you merrily on your way. He needs a strong hand to hold him steady though. Overall, Jack is eager for positive reinforcement and loves to please you, so he will ace any additional training.

Best Attribute:

Jack is a very smart boy. We think he'd really love to be with a person/family that enjoys the outdoors. His high level of energy and his want to please will make him the perfect dog for someone who has the time and energy to put back into him. We promise he’s worth it!
