Funko Pop

Aquarelle icon.jpg
Funko Pops are endearing pop culture figurines enjoyed by collectors. The toys are known to provoke an "Aww" reaction due to their blocky head and cute nose just below the line of the eyes.

Background Info:

This adorable little guy was found as a stray by a good Samaritan and taken to a local animal shelter. We cannot fathom why such a cute dog didn’t have a home to call his own. Funko Pop is a total ham and will be an amazing addition to the lucky family who adopts him.

Adoption Fee: $250

Sex: Male
Age: 1-3 yo

Healthy and ready to be adopted.

Physical Description:

Where to start! Funko is a stocky little man with a blockhead that sits atop his small but beefy body. He is mostly white with the most adorable brown freckles adorning his snoot and one ear, which sticks up all the time. His other ear is brown and equally as adorable. Funko has gorgeous hazel eyes that give the best “puppy eyes.”

Being an American Bully, Funky is smaller than a Pit Bull. Low to the ground, stocky and has a HUGE pumpkin head. This little guy is a head-turner and he knows it.

Current Living Situation:

Funko Pop is fostered in a home with two adults and no other pets. There is a yard in his foster home, but it’s not fenced so his foster mom takes him outside on a leash to do his business. He is very well behaved on the leash. Funko sleeps in his kennel at night, but he likes to have it covered. A blanky helps make it feel cozier to him.

Everyday Funko gets at least a 15 minute walk and he absolutely loves it! He is an explorer, but will also checks back with you.

Funko loves car rides. Even the sound of car keys gets him excited. He has his own little seatbelt, so he doesn't try to drive with you.

Personality:

Funko’s name could be shortened to “Fun” and it would describe him perfectly. He loves to have fun! He’s happy in any situation. He likes car rides but does need his own seatbelt, otherwise he will try to drive with you. It can take him a bit to settle into a new environment, but once he’s comfortable, let the play begin! Funko loves his toys and treats them with respect. He’s responsive and loves to learn.

Overall, Funko has a well-balanced behavior. He can be exuberant at times, but his bouts of excitement are short-lived. He loves being a couch-potato too.

Funko likes a routine as it makes him feel more comfortable. He is a very loving little guy who has the best kissable cheeks.

Behavior with people:

A total social butterfly who loves meeting new people... Sometimes a little too much. He can get overly excited without proper leadership but he's leaning to control his great enthusiasm for making new human friends. Training goes a long way with this outgoing happy-goofball. Once he's over the excitement of the initial greetings. he is well behaved... For the most part... He might try to crawl onto your lap but he is respectful if you make it clear that he's being too needy. He'll move on to someone else and soak up attention from anyone who will give it to him.

Behavior with children:

Unknown. There are no kids in Funko's foster and he hasn't met little ones since being in our program. It is possible that Funko could demonstrate resource guarding over his toy so a home with adults only is recommended.

Behavior with other dogs:

During a brief introduction while at the city pound, Funko let the staff know he wasn't comfortable playing with others. He's also possessive of his toys and does not share well. For that reason, we believe Funko needs to be an only dog.

That said, he is non reactive when out on a walk if other dogs are in eyesight. He will have a quick glance at them, but a simple redirection gets his focus right back to his walk. He doesn’t try to greet other dogs and pretty much gives them zero recognition.

Funko took some training classes and did great around other dogs while working on commands.

Behavior with other animals:

Funko goes on walks daily and doesn’t pay much attention to squirrels, bunnies, etc. At home he loves to watch squirrels and birds from the window, but he has never attempted to catch any.

Training:

This smart boy mastered potty training in no time. Funko can be stubborn at times and needs strong leadership. The ideal furever family will continue training with him. We think additional training be easy for Funko as he has already learned basic commands.

Update: Funko went to obedience group training in April. Since then his foster mom has worked on different commands with him. He knows: wait, sit, stay, and down. He would benefit from someone who is interested in continuing training with him.

Funko is fully potty trained. He does very well in his kennel. He feels safe and secure in it, so he does not mind. He is calm and quiet, as long as he has a blanket and a bone, he will be set.

Best Attribute:

Funko is cute, and he knows it! Foster mom says he will try to use it to get his way, and honestly, who could resist?! Funko is always ready for a picture to be taken and as you can see, he’s extremely photogenic. His favorite thing though, is to cuddle and watch T.V.

This little clown has a heart of gold and should make an easy and very pleasant companion to anyone looking for an adorable little low-rider who loves people.
