Background Info:

Cookies ‘N Cream a.k.a. “C.C.” was found as a stray and brought to the local shelter. We were amazed by her striking appearance and great personality. We don’t know anything about her past, but we do know that she has a very bright future.

Adoption Fee: $150
Breed: Pit Bull Mix
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 10-18 mts
Weight: 45-55 lbs
Health Condition:

Healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:

C.C. is described as the doggy version of a Gerber baby. She is on the small side and has a permanent puppy face with THE most adorable ears. Definitely the kind of ears that have a life of their own. Generally the left one sticks straight up, and her right ear has the cute puppy fold-over.

C.C.’s amazing merle coat is a creamy blend of black and white, just like Cookies & Cream ice cream! We love to photograph her because she’s an easy model and oh so cute! Plus, she’s just as sweet as her name suggests 😊

Current Living Situation:

C.C. is a resident at the MPR shelter. While she's a trooper about her situation, her eagerness for attention is pretty obvious. Sharing limited attention time with several other dogs at the shelter isn't her favorite thing. She's a social butterfly and loves to be the center of attention.

It took C.C. a couple of weeks to get acclimated to her new living situation, but she now seems resigned and happy. She's obviously figured out that while MPR is not exactly a forever home, it's not too shabby when it comes to temporary shelter. Her positive spirit is helping her make the best out of what life throws at her and keep her chin up.

C.C. keeps her kennel clean and uses her dog door to potty in the outside run if needed. Although she very much prefers to wait for her turn in the yard.

Personality:

A sassy princess, full of fun and personality. She loves baths and getting pampered, but is not fond of getting her hair brushed. She'd rather play instead and will steal the brush from you for a game of chase. 😂 Otherwise she is a happy dog and very well balanced. She loves to play outside, run zoomies, and soak up the sun when in the yard. Inside C.C. is a chill snuggle bug and enjoys sitting on the couch with her people and getting loved on.

Behavior with people:

C.C. is outgoing and friendly with everyone. She can get excited when meeting new people sometimes, but she’s mostly well behaved in her greetings.

Behavior with children:

Unknown. She's still young and can be a little exuberant at time. Not all children enjoy the happy energy of a young dog. We believe she would be better in a home with teenagers where she could be the life of the party.

Behavior with other dogs:

We haven’t seen C.C. interact with other dogs much while at MPR, but we were told that she was a little bit rough and rowdy in playgroups during her brief stay at the local shelter.

She is currently in training classes with other dogs and doesn’t engage with them, not even barking! So far, there has not been any negative interactions reported but we can't tell for sure that she could easily share a home with other pets. It might depend on their energy and tolerance level. Not every dog will enjoy her happy play drive and bold confidence.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown. A home with cats is not recommended.

Training:

C.C. is a total rockstar in her training classes. She’s eager to please and is learning simple commands like: sit, down, wait, look, touch, and place. C.C. is very smart and picks things up with ease. We noticed that she can easily get bored, so short training sessions to work her commands help keep her focused. Outings with this cutie will be a breeze as long as you are ready to reward her with treats for good behavior. 😉

Best Attribute:

C.C. has it all – brains, beauty, and a great personality. One of our volunteers described her best as the Sandra Bullock of dogs. She’s sassy, sweet, and all around lovable. She will make a fantastic addition to your family!
