Callibella
A small New World Marmoset (monkey) native to the Amazon Rainforest. Monkey symbolism and meaning center on the creature’s legendary playful, humorous, curious, and mischievous antics.
Background Info:
Callibella was found as a stray and taken to the local shelter. It’s shocking that nobody ever came to claim her. She’s a doll! While we don’t know anything about her past, we knew that this tiny little thing would be successful in our program. She’s way too cute not to be a cherished pet!

Breed: Pocket Pitty
Sex: Female
Age: 1-3 yrs
Weight: 35-45 lbs
Health Condition:
Healthy and ready to be adopted!
Physical Description:
This captivating little black and tan munchkin may be limited in stature, but don’t let that dupe you into thinking she has a small presence. Everything about her is just adorable. Her zoomies are micro-sized, which certainly adds to her charm! Calli is full of wiggles and her body is always showing off her curious and jubilant nature. She has a darling, expressive face with ears that are to die for!
Current Living Situation:
Calli is learning the ropes at the MPR shelter. She’s inquisitive about her new surroundings, but she doesn’t cause any trouble. She keeps her kennel clean and uses her doggy door to do her business outside.
Personality:
A happy and playful girl. Calli is refreshingly effervescent! While small in size, she has a BIG personality! She loves to chew on toys and have a good time. This sweetheart is fond of getting affection too. She’ll crawl onto your lap if you let her, though she enjoys flopping over on the ground for belly rubs too! 😉
Behavior with people:
Everyone is a friend! Calli gets excited to meet new people and she’s favorable with everyone. The perfect day for Calli would be going for a nice walk or hike, followed by some tried and true belly rubs after she’s all tuckered out.
Behavior with children:
Unknown, but she has not displayed any behavior that would be concerning around kiddos. Her small size might actually be a good thing for potential adopters with smaller children.
Behavior with other dogs:
While at the local animal shelter, Calli participated in play groups with other doggies, and she did fine. Her playstyle was described as “gentle and dainty.” Gosh, she’s just so precious! Calli could possibly live with a compatible male in her furever home.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown. We haven’t seen much of a prey drive from her yet.
Training:
Calli is a treat-motivated gal. She is working on basic commands at the shelter and she’s picking things up quickly. We look forward to watching her grow as she gets more training under her belt. Volunteers have reported that she also has impeccable leash manners!
Best Attribute:
This pocket pitty is so amusing! Whether she’s entertaining herself with a toy, displaying her bite-sized bouts of zoomies, or enveloping herself in your affection, she’s sure to bring a smile to your face! We may be biased, but we think that Calli is just the perfect little companion!
