Brooklyn
Background Info:
Puppy Brooklyn was found as a stray and taken to the city shelter. We have no information regarding her past and upbringing.
Health Condition:
Brooklyn was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia. We were told she did not require treatment at this time but might develop arthritis later in life. She will likely be a candidate for pain management eventually, particularly as she gets older. Other than that, she is healthy and ready for adoption.
Physical Description:
She's very unique with a striking tri-colored coat and two different colored eyes. She also has the cutest overbite that makes her completely irresistible. Brooklyn is not full-grown yet. We suspect she will be about average size for a female bully or slightly smaller. She might be mix with Catahoula.
Current Living Situation:
Brooklyn is fostered in a home with 2 adults, two teenager kids and two rescue Pit Bulls, ages 4 and 13 years old.
Her foster family tells us that Brooklyn is a very sweet girl, well-behaved and easy to handle. Although she was found as a stray on the streets, it would appear she had a home at one time. She knows "sit" command and seems to be housebroken. She did great in the car and doesn't whine in her kennel. She makes the sweetest pig grunts when you love on her - very sweet!
Crate training is in progress and going very well. Brooklyn stays in a crate when no one is home and sleep in her crate at night with no issues.
Personality:
Brooklyn is very responsive but is a happy, fun-loving goofball at the same time. Foster mom describes her as well-balanced with a medium level of energy. We are told that she is easy-going and eager to please.
Behavior with people:
Brooklyn is very people-oriented and wants to be near her loved-ones at all times. She is particularly fond of the teenager boys in her foster home. As mentioned above, she makes the cutest pig grunt noises when loving on her!
When it comes to strangers, she has welcomed everyone she meets so far. She does bark when someone comes in, but not in an aggressive way. She stops almost immediately.
Behavior with children:
Foster mom thinks Brooklyn would do well in most situations, but she is a bit rambunctious during play mode. Due to this, a family with toddlers or sensitive children isn't recommended.
Behavior with other dogs:
Her behavior with other dogs is unknown at this time. We will be doing a slow introduction with the resident dogs in the coming days.
Behavior with other animals:
Unknown
Training:
She wants to please and responds well to commands. Foster family is working on crate training, but she has not had an accident yet. She appears to be housebroken, and we will continue to work on this with her. She knows "sit" and we are working on "stay."
Best Attribute:
Her physical appearance is very unique but her sweet and lovable personality is just as endearing. She's a special dog, full of potential and charm.
