Background Info:

Bic Mac was surrendered to the city pound by his family because they did not have time to for him. Big Mac was kept outside and never knew what the good life was all about. He has now been given a chance to find someone who will treat him much better and welcome him as part of the family, where he belongs.

Adoption Fee: $ 200
Breed: American Bulldog
Sex: Male
Age: 10-15 mts
Weight: 80-90 Lbs
Health Condition:

Bic Mac is healthy and ready for adoption.

Physical Description:

Big, beefy guy who's a little overweight for the moment but building muscle mass now that he has a chance to run and play. We suspect he was kept on a chain before with no exercise. He is not tall for an American Bull, but definitely stocky... and slobbery 😆

Current Living Situation:

Big Mac is thriving at MPR shelter. He's mostly good in his kennel, although he loves to bring all his blankets outside and make himself a new bed 🤦 - He does keep his inside kennel clean, and is quiet and patient while awaiting his turn to be out with a volunteer.

Personality:

"Ornery goofball" would best describe this entertaining clown. He's still a puppy and his antics are hilarious. Potential owner will need a ton of patience, some positive leadership, and a good sense of humor with this guy. And if you don't like sloppy kisses, you might want to reconsider 😝

While Biggie is "big" indeed, and occasionally boisterous, he is not hyper or overly excited. In fact, he has a rather chill personality, at least most of the time. We suspect he might even be on the lazy side when he's a little older. Please be aware that still being a young dog, who never had any structure before, he might get into things if not closely supervised. He is going to need training and patience while he matures and understands house manners.

Behavior with people:

Friendly, funny and outgoing. Big Mac is comfortable with everyone he meets and loves people. The happy-go-lucky buffoon doesn't seem to have a preference between men or women. He just loves to amuse everyone with his silly shenanigans and comical nature. He's definitely a big lovable goof.

Behavior with children:

We have not seen him with kids since he's been with us. What we know about him at this point is that he appears to have no malice, a very friendly nature, a kid-like personality and a sturdy built. Those traits are usually compatible to a home with children. That said, he might not always know his size and could easily knock over a toddler. In addition, he is rather slobbery and loves to give a ton of wet kisses. Very young kids could be overwhelmed by his enthusiasm for hand-licking and face-washing.

Behavior with other dogs:

Unknown. He's still young and hopefully adaptable. He's big though and might come across a little strong with his greetings, which could overwhelm a smaller or older dog.

Behavior with other animals:

Unknown.

Training:

He seems housebroken and knows a few commands. Learning about house-manners is a work in progress!
